I've had this candle holder for a while now, but I have to admit I'm getting sick of the stripes. I bought it "as is" and I think the fact that the lines were all uneven set off my crazy O.C.D HA!...So I sat and thought....and thought....and thought....and this is what I came up with. JUTE! Yes I hopped on the Jute bandwagon finally. People seem to be putting this stuff everywhere so I figured I would see for myself what the craze was all about. And lets' just say...I LOVE IT!
Here is the before, CrOoKeD lines and all.
Before I started wrapping the Jute, I spray painted the top part of the candle holder black.
(You will notice it in the final picture.)
I used my handy dandy Gorilla Super Glue to keep the Jute in place. This Jute stuff really moves if ya dont keep it in check! And this Gorilla Glue stuff is AMAZING at doing just that!
And now I introduce you to Mr. Jute!
I wrapped...and wrapped...and wrapped...then accessorized the final piece with this cross I found at Joanne's for $3.99
I wasn't crazy about the blue though. So I turned it around and noticed it was plain silver on the back. PERFECT! So I decided to show off the back of it instead of spray painting it a different color.
Here is the back of the cross.
And here it is in all its beautiful Jute glory!
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
Now I know what the Jute craze is all about :)

ok, that's pretty awesome! but how in the world did you manage to NOT super glue your hand to your project? Because had it been me, I'd still be walking around that candle holder stuck to my hand!
Love it! And the cross on it is adorable. Great job!
I love it! I am going to have to pull out my jute!

Hello there,
Thanks for sharing this link - but unfortunately it seems to be down? Does anybody here at mytrashytreasures.blogspot.com have a mirror or another source?
Thanks,
